How Being a Boy Scout Leader Enhanced My Coaching Career

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Since the beginning of Boy Scouts the troops have been boy lead. This means that the boys plan, prepare and execute all the training and exciting adventures they participate in. The adult leaders are there to educate the youth leaders, assist where requested and make sure everyone is safe and secure. Being boy lead is very important in creating our future leaders. It is also challenging to say the least. Due to this challenge the Boy Scouts use a model to help youth leaders do their jobs. They call this model “E.D.G.E.”.

As a leader, I found this model so helpful I started to use it in my own career as an Agile Coach. This presentation will show you what the E.D.G.E model is and how it framed a coaching tool for the maturity of agile teams.

You will walk away with what some would say is a flexible playbook for agile coaching. We all have our own style and that is vitally important. It is also important to have a path that can be improved over time. The Agile Coaching Accelerator keeps us on track and allows us to evaluate progress. In the end it will provide a possible tool for your tool box.
